Meeting Summary -- ICRF2StPreport.doc
- 4th -- 2008 March 5; St. Petersburg, Russia
A rather belated reminder of the IVS General meeting in St. Petersburg in March with a meeting of the IERS/IVS working group on Wednesday, March 5. The overall meeting information is at http://ivscc.gsfc.nasa.gov/meetings/gm2008/ and the registration deadline is this Friday, Dec. 21. I encourage working group members to submit abstracts to session 4, Interpretation of VLBI Results in Geodesy, Astrometry and Geophysics. Areas of interest would include the analysis of time series and the use of structure information for selecting defining and unstable sources and comparison of catalogues to detect systematic effects and to determine the realistic error level. Some thought should be given to the problems of data inhomogeneity, particularly the weakness in the southern hemisphere. I expect that other topics will come to mind as the work proceeds that will be discussed via email and at the working group meeting.
